Well, we’ve finally printed this year’s Christmas Cards, available to order HERE. Four cards for £5, one of each design in a mix of two colourways, with envelopes too. We’ll start posting them out from Monday 6th December via first class post.

Thank you to our awesome designers, Lee, Darren, Thomas and Mister Millerchip!

Behind Kathryn’s yellow door

August 24, 2010

Kathryn from The Yellow Door Bindery popped in earlier bearing gifts, and to show us these lovely little notebooks she’d made using different coloured bookcloths we printed a while back. You’ll be able to pick one or two of them up at Handmade Birmingham and I’m sure it won’t be too long before you see them pop up in a few Custard Factory shops and online. I can’t wait to start using mine.

Ervin’s website

August 23, 2010

At the time of posting this, Ervin Esen’s website is down, which is frustrating as I just know it’s going to be full of awesome things to look at. We printed these three colour prints for personal promotion, and we were made all to aware of how important getting the colours and print right was to Ervin. We did our very best, as we do with all our printing, and were delighted to receive an email a few days later saying

“They are exactly how I wanted them to be. Thank you for sharing my enthusiasm for this project. Throughout the whole process you were very very helpful and professional”

I don’t usually post testimonials for our work, I usually think people can make their own mind up as we try and deliver a one-to-one service with everyone we print for, but these kind words were just too nice to sit in our inbox.

How to…

August 11, 2010

The How To Project is the brain child of Mike Arnold who asked us to print the first items he has to sell on his website. Filled with links to inspirational websites and people, and even a nice blog post about us, it’s definitely a website to add to your favourites…

Mister Millerchip prints

August 11, 2010

Our friend Mister Millerchip popped by the studio last week to pick up some prints we’d done for him and told us all about the projects he’s currently working on, and some very exciting plans for the next year. We’re very happy to work with such a lovely fella, and you should definitely be on the look out for his art.

clever eggs

July 9, 2010

When our friends at Bad Egg Records told us they were going to make CD cases for the new Whales album from single pieces of card, I couldn’t get my head around ‘how?’. After a bit of nifty design work and carefully placed cut and fold lines though, you can now see how awesome and professional-looking this DIY packaging is, and we were very pleased our printing helped!

The Bronx, The Ghost of a Thousand and Mister Thomas Lacey

June 15, 2010

Check it out, SRA2 100% recycled bright white 300gsm paper with a three colour print using waterbased inks. Snazzy eh? Pick one of these limited edition screen prints designed by Thomas Lacey at a Bronx / Ghost of a Thousand show later this month.

Rolo Tomassi screen prints

June 11, 2010

So recently the lovely Thomas Lacey got in touch with us about printing some A2 screen prints for Rolo Tomassi, who seem to be playing all the festivals the UK has to offer this Summer, and I imagine are very busy guys. Tom has put his newly found halftone and threshold photoshop techniques to good use with this design, and we think they look pretty smashing. Printed on 100% recycled bright white 300gsm paper using black waterbased ink.

Flix Records DIY releases

June 10, 2010

Flix Records are putting out these three CD’s by Philidelphia’s Dirty Tactics (currently on tour in Europe somewhere with Bangers), Cali’s Madison Bloodbath, and the UK’s very own Men from Norwich. We printed the artwork onto A4 card, so Felix not only saves money, but gets to be totally DIY and punk and rad by cutting and folding them to make the CD sleeves himself.
